Towards the Boundaries of Fictional Narrative

My thesis examines the nature of contemporary fictional narration and explores its relations to other types of narration - mainly texts where educational or informative function prevails over the aesthetic one. The whole work is divided into four parts. The first part is theoretical; it sets up basic areas of interest and names methods, tools and models that will be tested on selected examples from Slavonic literatures. The second part analyses spatial and temporal relations of fictional narrative. Chapter 2.1 treats time and space in a novel mostly from the compositional point of view (based on the example of Sasha Sokolov's A School for Fools), while in the next chapter, focusing on ideational interconnections between literary and social- political utopias, both fictionality and temporality are understood more broadly than mere narrative categories: they serve as certain points of connection between the immanent occurrence of meaning in the "world of text" and its historical background. The third part continues in this direction, only what we mean by context here is not the collective historical background, but an individual sphere of everyday life. "The end of the Nylon age" novella from the year 1950 and its critical edition

This diploma thesis deals with the novella The end of the nylon age written by Josef Škvorecký in 1950. It explores the text from a literary historical, literary theoretical and literary "practical", editorial point of view. After the introduction of author's work in necessary period and factual context the thesis focuses on the iterpretation of the novella, its narrative situation and the resulting structure of the text. The thesis then deals with dialogues and dialogic characteristics of the novella. The closing part pays attention to the textological issues - creating of an annotation system to the book. The novella is being related to other artist's work within each theme throughout the entire thesis.
Daimón: The Unity and the Contradiction of the Lope de Aguirre's World

The present work is focused on interpretation of the novel Daimón, written by Argentinian writer Abel Posse. It indicates the context of the "Latin America's new historical novel", comments the historical background of the story, touches the concept of time in the novel. Then the work analyses in detail the composition of the novel which is structured as a Tarot cards reading, explains the importance of the Tarot not only for interpretation of the Daimón novel, but also for understanding the World in general. Children{\crq}s Social Representation of Emotions and Violence

The thesis deals with the preschool children{\crq}s representations of emotions and violence and compares education in standard kindergartens with Montessori kindergartens. The conditions of the origin of Montessori pedagogy clarified and the basic principles are compared with current knowledge of biology, psychology, pedagogy and sociology. The thesis introduces also the notion of social representations and two studies of preschool children{\crq}s social representations of emotions and violence. It gathers the knowledge if and how it is possible to modify these preschool children{\crq}s social representations. It focuses on the Montessori pedagogy as one of the possibilities of increasing the presence and quality of these social representations.
